  • grasblau clearly subscribes to the requirements of the German Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV) for the operation of the building
  • Mainly low-pollution materials which are particularly environmentally friendly will be used
  • To avoid long transport routes, and thus reduce environmentally harmful carbon emissions, a majority of the raw materials used will come from the region – e.g. primarily European natural stone for the outdoor areas
  • Woods and wood products will come mainly from sustainable forestry
  • Around 70% of trees on the property will be preserved, especially impressive plane trees and maple trees
  • The additional newly designed green spaces will feature plants that aim to protect and preserve biodiversity, with a diverse range of regional flora as far as possible
  • To protect insects and avoid light pollution, strictly directional lighting via light columns and path lighting will be used
  • The rainwater on the built spaces will be collected and added to the groundwater, instead of guiding it into the wastewater system
  • Certification according to the DGNB Gold standard is aimed for
